Can you answer ihateaccounting’s question about ADHD?:
I notice that people with ADD or ADHD always have to sit in the same spot in a classroom everytime. What the hell is that?
This is college students I’ve noticed doing this. One girl even said “I just really like this seat for some reason” and this other boy freaked out silently because someone took his seat.

ADHD Feedback: Sometimes the teachers sit people with ADD in the front of the classroom to keep an eye on them and make sure they stay on task and get their work done.
Dana (wife is a teacher)
ADHD Feedback: It helps them have a sense of “order” and routine. It helps them focus better.
ADHD Feedback: ummm they don’t. My brother has it, and so did a bunch of my guy friends. It just means they can’t focus and are hyper. Which is basically the same as if you drink too much caffine.
unless its cuz they are being punished by the teacher and are forced to sit in one place.
if anything they bounce around and can’t stay in one spot for real long.
ADHD Feedback: Legally a teacher CAN NOT pick out a person with add/adhd and treat them differently! I accidentally got my 5th grade teacher in VERY big trouble years ago! It would be a sense of consistancy for the student though because we get distracted real easily!
ADHD Feedback: Not every person with ADD/ADHD is like that.
Some of those with ADD/ADHD have subtle hearing challenges (auditory distractibility) where they may consciously choose to sit in a seat where they perceive sound a little clearer (sometimes near the front of the classroom). That’s my understanding.
